Snellville Lodging

Snellville is about 18 miles east of Atlanta and is most commonly accessed by U.S. Highway 78, which narrows down to a two lane country road leading through Loganville to Athens. Most travelers from Atlanta to Athens take a more direct route along U.S. Highway 29 so tourist traffic through Snellville is relatively low.

There are two hotels in Snellville

The Crestwood Suites, formerly known as the Camden Suites, offers extended stay accommodations in 134 large suites with apartment sized kitchens including a refrigerator and a 2-burner stove, a microwave, a toaster, all cookware and cooking utensils, separate living areas, ample work space with a desk, remote control cable TV with HBO or Showtime, an iron and an ironing board, and in-room high speed Internet access. The Super 8 Motel at 2971 West Main Street, (770) 736-4723, also offers extended stay rates along with free high speed Internet access, complimentary SuperStart Breakfast, a heated pool and an exercise gym.

Only 7 miles west of Snellville is the Holiday Inn Express at 1790 East Park Place Boulevard, Stone Mountain, (877) 863-4780, and 7 miles to the north is Suburban Extended Stay, 652 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville, (770) 682-2197. About 8 miles away in Duluth are the Sun Suites of Gwinnett at 3720 Steve Reynolds Boulevard, (770) 931-3320 and the Candlewood Suites Atlanta Gwinnett Place, 3665 Shackleford Road, (888) 299-2208.

Two lovely and romantic bed and breakfast inns are 5 miles from Snellville

The Village Inn Bed & Breakfast was built in the 1820’s as a roadside inn and it is the oldest structure in Stone Mountain Village, a quaint old area containing over 50 specialty shops and restaurants that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Completely renovated in 1995, the Village Inn has 6 bedrooms with whirlpool baths, gas fireplaces, ceiling fans, cable TV’s and VCR’s. Each room is tastefully decorated with period antiques to create the ambiance of a past era when neighbors gathered on front porches and sipped tall glasses of iced lemonade. Guests enjoy a delicious complimentary full Southern breakfast including specialties like raspberry stuffed French toast with country sausages, wake-up egg casserole, cheese grits and bacon, fresh fruits and biscuits. Silver Hill Manor at 1037 Main Street in Stone Mountain, (770) 879-6800, is a stately antebellum Southern mansion where guests can enjoy Southern luxury at its most elegant. The 6 bedrooms in the main house are all luxuriously and tastefully decorated and three of them have private Jacuzzi baths. Silver Hill Manor also has a private cottage featuring two bedrooms with private Jacuzzi’s. Of course, guests are treated to a complimentary full traditional style Southern breakfast each morning.
